Our “Roots” Are Planted In The Past:

A constant reminder for years to come that we are successful because we are evergreen and the covenant to always continue on that path.

It all began when we contracted “the disease” from our father, Fred Julius Smith, Sr.

Our Purpose, Our Backbone

Our PURPOSE is to produce & reproduce the Best SimAngus cattle we can for our commercial cattle customers.

To accomplish our PURPOSE we have adopted a set of principles & values to guide our decisions and answer why we do what we do.

We have diligently selected and bred our cattle with one purpose in mind – to produce SimAngus bulls for the commercial cattleman. To accomplish our purpose, we use genetic engineering found in elite herds around the United States. As a result, we are extremely proud of this functional set of bulls that will be ready to work as soon as you get them home. Within the groups there are bulls that excel at calving ease, maternal traits, growth and carcass capabilities.

Genetics

Our plan is to produce superior SimAngus bullsfor our customers by genetic engineering using the best genetics found in elite herds in the United States.

Data Driven

FSCR uses all the tools available to advance relevant traits in each animal we breed.

  • Proven Sires
  • EPD’S
  • Genomic DNA testing
  • Measurement of all productive traits
  • Visual appraisal for sound phenotypes for all individuals

EPD Selection

By using economic index values, FSCR will put as much terminal (TI) and maternal (API) excellence in our cattle as we can, without sacrificing soundness, feet and legs, longevity and letting the frame size get too big.

  • Efficient in the pasture.
  • Have good maternal traits.
  • Provide good carcass.

Partnerships

We work closely with strategic partners while using the deep pool of genetic information available today. We employ both A.I. and embryo transplant programs to build and sustain a reputable, proven and preferred SimAngus cattle program.

Putting Extra Effort forth everyday.
